Lacey & Riley are so much fun to hang out with. They are up for anything and always have a good time.
Friday:
We went to a safari park a few hours away and actually fed wild animals out of our car, check out the videos for a good laugh. The first one is right when we got there, and the second is the camel, that's all I'm gonna say.
We stopped at the Pink Cadillac diner on the way home, a very old but cute local place.
We went and picked strawberries on a farm in Leesburg, ate till we were sick and still had about 7 lbs left! It is a very cool place, you just walk in, they hand you a bucket and then you go pick. When you are done, you pay for what you want to take home and head to the car. Very no hassle. None of us had ever picked strawberries before. Lacey didn't even know that she liked them till she had a few fresh off the vine, then she liked them quite well. They taste amazing right off the vine. The farm has all different produce at different times of the year. Can't wait for raspberry season in August!! Lacey has the pictures, sorry.
Then we went to the outlet mall for a few hours. Wow, great sales, wow, huge crowds. Did not think about when I planned to go to the mall on a Saturday afternoon, two days before Memorial day. Nan and Mike met us at the mall for a little while, but it was too crowded and Nan wasn't feeling too well.
I got a bunch of clothes and a VERY cute coach purse on clearance. :)
Sunday:
We went to church in the morning, then
We went to a FREE! Memorial day concert at Wolf Trap and listened to the U.S. Marine Corp Band and saw a beautiful fireworks show. Here is the finale. One of the best I have seen. Its starts a little slow but the end is pretty cool.
Monday:
Lacey and I went back to the outlet mall and went and got our nails done while Riley and Erich put lights on the outside of our house. It is pitch black in Reston at night due to their no street light policy. So, whenever we come home and it is dark it is quite difficult to get to the door. So awesome that we have light now!!!! Very exciting.
We cooked a lot - filet mignon, tilapia, the best ribs you ever tasted, eggs, eggs and more eggs. We made chocolate covered strawberries, potato salad and so much more I can't remember. We also ate out a lot. hehe. Riley said he wasn't used to eating so much and that he probably gained 5 lbs.
To combat this we went for walks around the lake and played tennis a few times, also walked quite a bit shopping. Had so much fun playing tennis, Erich and I are going to try to get out there more often. (The tennis court is across the street from out house)
We had the most wonderful time, playing Pokemon (the boys played Call of Duty), cooking, hanging out, shopping....you name it. Can't wait for them to come back.
