Last weekend we had a wonderful trip back to Texas. It was a trip with a purpose. My cousin, Jace's Wedding!!! We weren't sure if we were going to make it at first, but I was determined to go since Jace and I are close and I could never forgive myself if I missed it. Luckily when I check the plane tickets they were reasonably priced and I got them right away.
We flew in Thursday night and stayed up way to late just chatting with my parents. Friday, we ran errands, Erich had a golf lesson with my dad, and we had an incredible dinner at home. Erin and Brian came over so we got to see them too! Also, I got to stop by my sister's new house. Very cool. While we ate dinner we watched the Mavericks game. Oh and they WON!!! Go Mavs! This was game 3 of the Mavs v. Lakers playoff series. Mavs up 3-0.
Saturday we went garage saling all morning. Very fun. I haven't gotten to go in a very long time. I have to say, I don't have the stamina I used to. Mom sure wore me out. But she is a superwoman.
Then later on Saturday the much anticipated wedding. Jace and Deana were wed on Saturday, May 7 2011. I would call the wedding low key, but still classy. It was perfect. Deana looked absolutely stunning and had on an amazing dress, the guys were cute as can be in their cowboy attire, the music was awesome, decorations eloquent, food tasty and company unbeatable. I really enjoyed myself and I am SO GLAD I didn't miss it.
Sunday was another good day. Mother's Day!!! I went with my dad to the Mavericks Game 4 v. Lakers. Oh Yeah, we WON again. Killed them actually and it ended up being a bit of a blowout but still way too much fun to watch. My dad has great seats now so we were close enough to watch Kobe sweat it out. Both literally and figuratively. Then back home for another great dinner and got to see Grandma June since she wasn't able to make it to Jace's wedding.
Had to head back out Monday morning, but two days away from the office and one fabulous wedding later I was a happy girl.
And to think, I wanted a girl…..
