The Long Trip Home

It's official.  Erich and I are starting the long trip home.  I call it a long trip because we don't know when we are moving, where we will work, live or anything else really.  We just know that we want to head back to Texas.  I say "we" "home" and "back" but Erich has never really lived in Texas so these words are more for me.  Complicating things of course is the fact that if we move before we have lived in our house 3 years, we have to give the government back its $8,000, which we don't want to do.  October 2011 will be 2  years.  Also we have amazing friends here and we are pretty much "set up" with our house, jobs, and things we do.

I feel that I have been gone long enough.  I moved away from Dallas to Charleston to be with Erich the summer I graduated college in 2005.  We lived there for a year and headed up to DC for me to go to law school in 2006.  We will have been in Virginia for 5 years as of this summer.  To be honest I preferred South Carolina, but I had this crazy idea to go to law school.  It has worked out well for us.  We were able to find an amazing church and reconnect with God.  I did get a very good education and we were able to become a closer, better couple as a result of only having each other to rely on.  It has definitely been tough, and I feel pain, guilt and sadness whenever I miss out on another family function.  I believe this was a growing experience for me, but I have grown as much as I can here.  It is time to come home.

I am going to try to keep my job and transfer to the Dallas office.  That being said, if you know of a job that may fit my or Erich's skills in Texas, we are looking.  I may like to do something more in the lawyer field.  Erich is looking for something more finance related.  Your help would be much appreciated.  And the faster we get Texas jobs, the faster we can move home!  I don't think we would be willing to move until we do find jobs because we don't want to end up in an awkward position.  Even though let's face it, a year on the job and stay at home mom is looking better every day!
