Today is Erich and I's 3 year Anniversary.
So many things have changed in the last few years it's almost hard to believe. Three years ago today Erich and I were in Charleston saying our vows. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but it has turned out better than I could ever have imagined.
October 2006:We just moved to Arlington, Virginia and I had just started law school. We knew almost no one, I had a lot of school ahead of me, and I planned to leave Virginia the day I graduated from law school. We weren't involved in a church, Erich didn't have a job, and we were fighting constantly.
October 2009:By the grace of God we found the most amazing church. Through that we have developed a group of amazing friends and gotten involved in so many wonderful things. Erich is playing flag football, I have been going to an amazing bible study (www.mcleancbs.org), I have been participating in art from the heart, and we have joined a couples small group. We have been able to do a variety of charity projects. We are buying a house in Reston, Virginia. We close on Oct. 20. Even though Erich travels a lot for his job, it is an amazing job and we are so blessed that he has it. I am starting a dream job at PricewaterhouseCoopers in January, and I ended up being an accountant instead of a lawyers, which I will most likely enjoy so much more. We have two beautiful girls, which is a great substitute for children right now. We have had two great mentor couples and worked on our relationship almost non-stop. We are getting along so much better now and we couldn't be happier to be with each other.
The journey we have been through has had its ups and downs. We have had moments of joy, moments of physical and mental pain, moments of loss, and moments of triumph. Three years ago I never would have imagined the things I would go through or where I would be today and I can't imagine where another three years will take us.
As my friend Nancy says: we did not yet know what God had in store.
And who knows what God has in store for the years to come! So happy for you guys!! xoxo
