It's mid October. No wait, late October. Where is the time going? As of Oct. 22 Erich and I have been home owners for 1 year. Thank you Obama for the $8,000. We will not be giving it back. (If you sell your house after less than a year you don't get to keep the money) It feels like we just moved in. We have accomplished a lot, but there is always more to do. Maybe that is the saving grace of renting, you don't care about making improvements.
Recently I have started doing Bikram Yoga. Now, those of you who know me will definitely say that Yoga does not really seem like my thing, which I whole-heartedly agree, but Bikram is another story. I went one day because they gave out free week long yoga passes and a bunch of people from my work all went together. I fell in love because they heat the room to over 100 degrees, which reminds me of home. It is the one place in D.C. that I can just be hot. Hot, Hot, Hot. I sweat and it feels good. It reminds me how much I love the sun, the summer and the warmth of home. Needless to say, I love going to bikram yoga, and I plan to continue. The one weird thing - yoga people are very 'earthy' which is funny because its the only place I have ever been where women actually walk around the locker room naked like in the movies. Just stark nakie. I was shocked at first, now I'm just amused. So guys, when you ask if women actually do that - yes they do. Only at a yoga studio though.
Work is much like a roller coaster. It has its good days, its great days, its ok days and its horrible days. This week hasn't been too bad. I had my first lunch with a partner, I started a committee for JDs at my office, and I'm starting to get some consulting work. I attribute much of this weeks success to last week's intense prayers. Of course these prayers were brought on by a much more horrible week. So no telling, but hopefully things will continue to go smoothly.
Erich and I are heading out for Barbados very soon! We are finally getting that Caribbean honeymoon I have always wanted. Can't wait. Pictures to follow, well when we get back of course. It only took 4 years, but hey better late than never. Now we can appreciate it that much more.
And to think, I wanted a girl…..
