I just got back from visiting the Funny Farm with my mother. For those of you that are unfamiliar - this is my grandparents house in the country. 
We had a wonderful time. We got there yesterday just in time to have some chicken and dumplings, just like my great grandmother used to make for me. Gran had also made sweetrolls (cinnamon rolls), sourdough bread and yeast rolls. Needless to say - we got full. Then we spent the rest of the day playing Chicken Foot. For those of you that have not played before, this is a game with dominos. We all won a few games because we played about 20. Pa came home from transporting a prisoner yesterday (he works with the sheriffs department in Hill County) 
and got to get in on gametime too. After he won the first one I don't think he did too well, probably just being nice to us girls. Then me and my mom picked cotton
, then we seeded the cotton. It was so much fun, I we would of done lots more but Gran only had 4 bushes. Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with all that cotton. Since I don't know how to spin it to thread or sew. It was shockingly soft though. We picked pears and feed them to the donkeys next door, I also got some to bring home to Erich! My grandparents also got a new dog, a stray that wondered up, Bubba.
He's quite a large dog, but he is very sweet and fits right in. When we were ready to go back home Pa took us out to Willie's Place, a restaurant that Willie Nelson put in to help revive an area that had turned not so good. 
The food was delicious and huge, and the service was good. If you are ever driving though Hillsboro you should try it.
