For Memorial Day, Erich, me, Cinne, & Bella drove down to Myrtle Beach to visit Erich's family. We had a wonderful time.
We were able to leave Thursday after I got off work and ended up in Myrtle about 2:00AM. This was important because Friday I worked from home, so during the day time hours I needed internet access and couldn't be driving. I actually got a lot done Friday and Erich went and worked on our condo there.
If you haven't heard, we bought a condo in Myrtle in February and Erich has been working to fix it up so we could rent it out. We were down to the final touches and needed to start working on getting a renter. Erich has worked on this condo for weeks mostly by himself and we have spent thousands of dollars getting it fixed up. We bought it as a foreclosure so it definitely needed some work. Erich did most of it but there were still things even he couldn't do or get to so hired his brother to do the drywall and a friend to do many of the other jobs around the place. Anyway, it is finally finished!!!! AND we got a renter in one day!!!! He saw the place on Saturday and wanted to move in on Wednesday, June 1, so Erich and I are now officially Landlords. Kinda scary. It can be a lot of work, but day 4 and we are doing ok.
After I finished my work and Erich finished at the apartment, we went to dinner into the main part of Myrtle Beach with Ashley (Erich's sister) and Greg (her husband) at Wild Wing (where Erich worked in college). This week was Black Bike Week in Myrtle so the beach was PACKED!!! This is the week where everyone is on the "rice burners" or "crotch rockets" or "street bikes." Definitely my first time to see such a thing and very entertaining.
Saturday Erich had to go work on the apartment, we ended up with a bathtub leak and he had to get a plumber to come over, and show it to the guy that ended up our renter, so Ashley and I went to lunch and shopping!!! I got some great maternity capris and shorts. My first maternity clothes. I love them and wear them almost every day now. Its going to be hard for Erich to get them away from me after the baby comes!! Ha. I don't see why anyone would ever want to wear regular pants again.
This is also where I found my baby girl outfit. It was originally for Jace and Deana, but I'm just not sure if I can relinquish it if I have a girl! I may have to go buy another one. It is sooo cute. Baby boy clothes just aren't that cute.
For dinner we went to a Mexican place called Casa Villa. Well, let's just say after eating here its clear that I could survive in Myrtle. Soooo good. Loved the salsa and chips. Actually, so good we ended up eating there again on Monday for lunch! Then we got to see Justin (Erich's brother) and Audrey (his girlfriend) and went bowling. Because I'm extra weak these days I only got to play a few games, but it was really fun. We love getting to hang out with his family.
Sunday was our first day of really getting to relax. Erich and I went to church with Ashley and Greg, then Erich and Greg went and played tennis and Ashley and I went and got pedicures and shopped around a little. Oh how could I forget, after church we went to lunch at King Street Grille, my favorite restaurant from Charleston that branched up to Myrtle!!! Love that place.
After that we went back to Greg's parents house and went out on the boat and ate dinner with his family. His mother is such a good hostess and we had a great time. They live right on the marsh in just a beautiful location.
Monday we went to the beach, finally!!!! Ashely and I went early because Erich had to go finish the last touches on the apartment. We ended up at the beach with Me, Erich, Justin, Audrey, and Ashely. Poor Greg had to work. Then we went to lunch with all of us and Erich's mother, grandmother and Jerry (Erich's mom's fiancee).
We had such an amazing weekend. Can't wait to go back!
And to think, I wanted a girl…..
